Annual General Meeting

and Film presentation following the meeting:

Life and Times of Emily Carr: A Woman of All Sorts

Dear CATWAO members,

 

We held our first Annual General Meeting on Monday, 24 April 2006, at the Councillors’ Lounge, Ottawa City Hall. 

-         The CATWAO Activity Report, our “Events List” of 2005-2006, presented by Füsun Ören, the President,  and

-         The  CATWAO Financial Report, presented by Gunilla Wade, the Treasurer

were approved by the members.

 

According to our by-laws, the Vice-President, the Treasurer and at least two members-at-large were to be elected this year.  As a result, Gail MacDonald and Gunilla Wade were re-elected by acclamation as vice president and treasurer respectively, and three new members at large were elected to work with the executive committee:  Barbara Hunter, Ayse Negus Saatci, and Kristina Wade.

 

The list of projected events was reviewed with the members and the film Life and Times of Emily Carr:  A Woman of All Sorts, shown as a preview to a planned guided tour in June of the upcoming exhibition, Emily Carr: New Perspectives at the National Gallery of Canada, was enjoyed by all. 

 

The new CATWAO pins made in the shape of our beautiful logo, designed by our honorary member Artist Monique Martin were also introduced.  They will be made available to members at all our future events.

  

We would like to thank all our members who have attended the AGM and those who have participated through their proxies and look forward to yet another successful year.
