Visit to Holtz Spa and  Lunch at Santé Restaurant

Dear CATWAO members,

 

On May 1^st, we had a very interesting and enjoyable day at the “Spa”!  Ten CATWAO members gathered at Holtz Health and Beauty Spa on Rideau Street, winner of 2003 and 2004 Consumers Choice Awards and were given a very informative tour of the facility.  Holtz Spa is owned by Donna Holtom, winner of the Business Woman’s Achievement Award (1999), also known for her volunteer work, among others, with the Canadian Tulip Festival, Ottawa Art Gallery and the National Arts Center.

 

We were introduced to many forms of holistic treatments, ancient and Eastern healing therapies, traditional Thai Massage, shiatsu, Swedish massage, hot stone therapy and many more.  Even the atmosphere of the Spa was enough for us to relax and later our members were treated to an even more relaxing neck/shoulder/back massage during which we were served a variety of extraordinary herbal teas.

 

Following the tour, we had our lunch at the Santé Restaurant overlooking the Chateau Laurier, Rideau and Sussex streets, and had a chance to view this month’s art exhibition – there is a different exhibition each month.

 

We all had a chance to get to know each other better, discussed different topics and parted, hoping to get together again soon.
